What’s your idea about a self-designed eco-friendly invitation card?

Aww. That is always interesting to do regular things in a somehow new and unexpected way. Although I explained to my fiancé that we make no difference among our guests even our immediate families, he is worried about our guests who may get upset to receive e-invitation cards which seem informal. I am always concerned about the environment and try to hurt less. Any help?
